Coridothymus Capitatus
Medical Use:
Coridothymus Capitatus is one of the strongest disinfectants. It is a classic plant for the treatment of inflammatory and infectious conditions, associated with cold and humidity in the body, especially the respiratory system. Used to treat diseases related to the upper respiratory system (cough and mucus, runny nose, respiratory problems, sinusitis), and gastrointestinal infections, lack of appetite and general weakness.
How and how much to take?
Half a teaspoonful to a full teaspoonful of Coridothymus Capitatus leaves in a glass of boiling water. Soak for about 15 minutes until cooled slightly (in a sealed cup so the volatile oils are not lost) and drink 3-4 times a day.
A steam bath (inhalation) can open the upper airways by briefly cooking 2-3 tablespoons of Coridothymus Capitatus leaves in water. Then cover the head and bowl with a large towel breathe in the steam.
Micromeria Fruticosa
Medical Use:
Micromeria Fruticosa is an anti-convulsive and delicate plant for the respiratory system.
The plant is good for the treatment and easement of sinusitis and the resulting headaches. It is good and safe for children to use for most respiratory and winter illnesses that cause contraction (from cough to asthma), especially when mixed with rest and general stress.
How and how much to take?
The plant is very effective and even delicious to drink as a brew, on its own and with other plants.
Micromeria Fruticosa tea: Cook three heaping handfuls of leaves and stalks in a litre of water, for about five minutes. The resulting brew colour is reddish brown. Strain and sweeten with sugar or honey.
