Joker (2019) Review - Part III (Binge in the time of Corona)

Captain Passive spends 90 minutes getting the shot kicked out of him and 30 minutes shooting people who don’t deserve it. He acts like vermin, gets treated like vermin, and incites fear of the mentally handicapped. Thank you Captain Passive, you fear mongering dipshit!

The Real Messages And now I turn to the worst part of the movie strapped to a chair, whimpering as I approach it with a pair of pillars, the fucking messages. The movie pretends to have a message about the revolution of the oppressed and the importance of funding mental health care, but as my pillars start twisting, the very ugly truth comes. The movie has two actual messages: 1. Crazy people are dangerous: People who are mentally ill must be kept away from society because they are strange, repulsive, delusional, and therefore immune to reason, and when they break down they become compassionate and regret-free killing machines. Fleck killed the guy in the apartment because he might go to the cops, as Fleck is getting ready to kill on air. The murder on the talk show was because the host laughed at him and to send a message about the world being bad. The film presents the mentally ill as dangerous and violent, who should not be employed, who should not be loved, be go figure what’s going through their head, after all, their delusional and remorseless.

2. Poor people are violent: "Rich Men of All Countries, Beware!" if you push the poor too far they will kill 2 rich people in an orgy of violence, killing hundreds and injuring thousands of poor, causing billions in property damage to tens of thousands of poor because the rich are insured and living in safer neighborhoods. The fake revolution in the rise of the Dark Knight was a higher quality equality porn, at least there the rich were targeted, trialed, and executed by the poor. This is just blind violence and destruction, just like Arthur Fleck, it’s lazy violence against whatever is closest. A revolution has goals that must be taken down to bring the dawn of a new world of justice, equality, and cheeseburgers for all. The riot at the end of Joker has no leader, no goals, no new order to establish, no restraint, it’s just violence for violence’s sake. Last Two Coffin Nails I hate this movie, it’s empty, pretentious, banal, disappointing, and masturbatory. DC should stick to Shazam, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the main message of "Hero punch face = good" is more authentic, deep, and has more integrity than Fleck’s "World bad, pew-pew, ha-ha."

The movie’s message about the rich is stupid, the one about mental illness is sickening. The movie does not encourage reaching out to the mentally ill, funding mental health care, or compassion. Fleck is miserable as long as the mental health care system works, and when it breaks down he feels more like himself and murders without remorse or regret. He moves from worthless to dangerous. There was no point where Fleck shows a hint of a redeeming quality with the message “fund mental health care to nurture this redeeming quality”. The message is not even “if don’t fund mental health care and the crazies will kill you” because Fleck is delusional and kills the 3 men on the train (hunting down and murdering one of them in cold blood) before his medicine is cut off. The movie encourages fear, revulsion, and violence towards the mentally handicapped.

Fuck everyone who shaped the message of this movie, especially fuck the writer, director, and editor and additionally fuck their muses, I hope this informed your viewing choice.
