Beloved Chameleon,
Managing a chronic condition takes a team of more than just you and your doctors. You have so many aspects of your life to change and adapt to your new normal. This process cannot be done without friends and family, it’s like driving a Formula 1 without a pit crew of mechanics. The car will fall apart without a team.
But you’re scared some friends and family will abandon you. However, your condition isn’t going anywhere, and they will find out eventually, so share and ask for help now or later when the neglect from hiding your condition will put you in a hospital. Share now and treat this as a golden opportunity to know who your real friends are. If your bond can’t bear your condition, the bond is a burden and you need to cut it.
Decide how you want to tell friends and family (one by one, small groups or all together) and be honest with them. Have answers ready for common questions (no, it’s not infections, no, it doesn’t mean I can snap at any moment, etc.) to help with ignorance. Those who will accommodate you and lend a hand are worth keeping.
More than that, we can’t help you if you don’t share with those you trust. The Illuminati guild does not have specific content and magical steps for recovery - because hiding your condition is the opposite of recovery - it’s like trying to win a Formula 1 race from inside a garage.
